Jeremiah R. Watkins, M.D.

Dr. Watkins was raised in Ellijay, Georgia before moving to Statesboro where he received a B.S. in Biology from Georgia Southern University. After completing his undergraduate education, he received an M.D. degree from Mercer University School of Medicine and completed a general surgery internship in Macon, Georgia.  Dr. Watkins went on to complete a clinical and anatomic pathology residency at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.

Prior to joining the department of pathology at Piedmont in Atlanta, Dr. Watkins was a staff pathologist at Wilford Hall and Brooke army medical centers in San Antonio, Texas. It was during this period that he became interested in Urologic Pathology. After his Air Force commitment, Dr. Watkins was a solo pathologist in both Blairsville and Milledgeville, Georgia.

When not at work Dr. Watkins enjoys a variety of outdoor activities including mountain biking and fly fishing when not spending time with his wife and four children.
